Training Schedules
Each member of our department must acquire a minimum of 36 hours of fire training annually in order to be certified as a firefighter in the state of North Carolina. Also, our department requires each member to obtain at least 12 hours of rescue extrication training annually and, if serving as a first responder, a minimum of 12 hours of medical training annually. There are other requirements and training from Burke County that each first responder must obtain in order to retain their first responder status. Each member must meet these requirements (specific to their current status) to remain on our roster the following year.
